Our civilian recruiters will generally be attending the same events as our deputy recruiters, with some exceptions.

Tribute to Community Rights Leader Leon L. Williams

Leon L. Williams is a lifelong civic leader with a string of “firsts” that are staggering:

  • The first Black person elected to the San Diego City Council in 1969
  • The first Black person elected to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors in 1982
  • President of the California Associations of Counties in 1993 and Board member of the National Association of Counties

On Saturday, July 30, the County of San Diego Office of Equity and Racial Justice is hosting a Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony honoring former County Board of Supervisors member Leon L. Williams as he turns 100!

The Recruiting Unit will be in attendance.
