The Bonita Optimist Club Respect for Law and Bicycle Rodeo event’s purpose is to focus the general populace’s attention on safety for both children and parents. Participating agencies such as Police, Fire, Paramedics, Homeland Security Customs, and Border Patrol will be onsite to engage with and inform the public of services available in time of need.  

The Bike Rodeo will teach young children safe cycling practices. It will also have bicycle and helmet inspections to assure both are in good condition. Activities include:

• Bike & helmet safety inspection
• Rules of the road
• Bike obstacle course
• Respect for law: demonstrations and exhibits
• Food trucks & treats
• Giveaways

Children must be accompanied by parents or guardian. Children must already know how to ride a bike or the bike must have training wheels. A release of liability must be signed before participation in the event.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department recruiters will be at this event, so come by and ask us about our job opportunities.
